Settlement and Citizenship
Anglo-British Academy of Advance Studies currently delivers the life in the UK test for persons who wish to apply for indefinate leave to remain in the UK or already have this status and now wish to apply to become a British citizen.
You are only required to take the test as an adult (post 18) and in some circumstances may not need to, which is dependant on disability status and other factors which are decided by the Home Office.
There are at present two ways to achieve the required levels of knowledge and use of the English language.
The first is taking an online exam at our centre which entails answering 24 multiple choice questions that are based on the book (Life in the UK) a journey to citizenship.
The second is taking a course in ESOL (speaking and listening unit) and progressing at least one level from your original diagnostic report. Contents of the course should also include official life in the UK materials.
Taking the second option is normally a lot costlier and will take longer to achieve, however, if your literacy levels are below entry level 3 then this may be the best option for you.
